The skies of Ilocos Norte

My sisters and I made a quick weekend trip to visit my grandmother who lives in the north. The town is almost 12 hours away from Manila. We spent the whole day of Saturday on a bus.

It was windy though the sun blazed under our heads. It’s exhilarating to be out in the countryside and breathe fresh air.

My grandmother loves planting vegetables and flowers on the backyard. We went home that day with a box of tomatoes picked from the garden.

These flowers remind me of childhood, attending catechist summer classes during May and picking flowers to offer for Virgin Mary.
